Over the past couple of years, people have had to stay at home a lot more then they usually do and it has resulted in the vast majority of us getting a lot fatter. Typically most people are putting on between 5 to 10 kg and fitness levels are suffering as a direct result. Many people don’t even have a garden to work out in and so this has greatly restricted the physical activities that they can take part in. It is now frowned upon to go for a quick walk around the block and it is affecting people not only physically, but mentally as well. Thankfully there is an end in sight and now people are looking to burn off the excess kilograms and to get their fitness level back to where it was.
If you’re one of the many people who are definitely out of shape, then maybe it’s time you got around to your local Melbourne CBD gym and started doing the exercises that you love to do. You are not at the same level of fitness that you were before, so you need to approach this carefully so that you are always going in the right direction. This is not the time to hurt yourself by starting too strongly and quickly and so here are some tips to help you along the way.
* Set realistic goals – Nobody expects you to hit the ground running and so always make sure that you set yourself goals that are achievable and that are spread out over a reasonable amount of time. Nobody says that you have to give up at the crack and before work and set off to your local gymnasium. Try to make time when you can and if you can spend at least 30 minutes a day at the beginning of doing strenuous exercise, then you’re well on your way to a leaner and fitter body. Pace yourself and don’t try to squeeze into much at the beginning because you definitely do not want to injure yourself and then to end up having to rest of for an additional couple of weeks. This will impact your motivational levels and you might find it a lot more difficult to get back into it again when you are recovered. When you are using the elliptical cross trainers, you really need to pace yourself.
*Take an activity that you enjoy – There is nothing worse than trying to get yourself into shape doing a particular exercise that you just don’t like to do. It just doesn’t make any sense to do this because there are many different types of equipment and different exercises that are available to you at any given time. Talk to the people at your local gym and get their advice on what exercises and what machines that you should be using to approve a specific part of your body. These people not exactly what they’re talking about and they will definitely point you in the right direction. It is important that you look forward to your activities as this will help to motivate you and help you to get to your ideal fitness level.
