These days, everyone is talking about Iran. The country is repeatedly called a hot travel destination because of the intricate shrines, magnificent palaces, and breathtaking beauty. You are also interested to visit this destination then you need to note things to know before visiting Iran anytime.

The dramatic landscapes of the country offer demanding respite from the hectic routines of the travelers. The country is home to one of the oldest cultures and civilizations on earth. You are interested to know about the history of different places then this place is the best option for you. Now you can look out for the best available offers on Emirates Airlines Flights so you can reach this destination.

In this piece, we have summarized all the important things that you need to learn before going to Iran. Let’s get started.

1. Best Time to Travel to Iran

Since the area of Iran is huge, the temperatures differ a lot. For example, the cities of Tabriz and Tehran are cold in March, but the weather remains warm in Esfahan during the same month. However, never go to Iran during the Iranian New Year holidays as many places are closed, and people also do not like to spend their time with others.

2. Weekend Is Friday

Given the Islamic traditions, the weekend in Iran is observed on Friday. Some offices remain open on Thursday, but most of them are also closed on Thursday because of the days of the weekend.

3. Bring a Lot of Money

Iran has been severely affected by the economic sanctions of the American and European Union, and so, the prices of everything are whopping. Bringing the money in cash would be preferable because Western debit or credit cards cannot be used in the country.

Furthermore, you will also not be able to exchange money outside the country; thus you will have to bring all the money from your country and exchange it at the airport or in the hotels.

4. Install a VPN

Even though internet surveillance in Iran is not as strict as in China, some things are consistently monitored by Iranian officials. For example, the content of Facebook and Twitter is strictly filtered, and any image or a video criticizing the revolution is banned on the internet.

5. Iran Is a Safe Country

Contrary to what the media disseminates about Iran, the country is entirely safe to travel. People here are hospitable, and once you befriend some locals, they will make sure that you have everything you need. Furthermore, if you know some Persian couplets of Allama Iqbal or Hafiz, then you will have a permanent place in the hearts of Iranians because the people of Iran immensely love these two poets.

6. You have to Follow the Religious Code of Conduct

Since an orthodox clergy run Iran, all the people, whether locals or foreigners are supposed to adhere to the moral code of conduct strictly. For women, it is not permissible to go outside without covering their heads with a scarf. Similarly, shaking hands with another sex is also prohibited. Handshaking is only between men and women.

7. Bring Comfortable Shoes

Bringing comfortable shoes is pivotal as you will walk a lot in Iran. The towns here are so charismatic that you will end up walking at least 8km every day.

8. Don’t Go to Iran during Ramadan

Ramadan is the holiest month for Muslims, and they observe it by fasting from dawn to dusk. Furthermore, the month also holds special significance given that the Holy Quran was revealed in this month.

So, before packing your bag for Iran, it is prudent to have a look at the Islamic calendar and check the month. If it is Ramadan, then it is better to postpone your plans as you will not be able to experience the real charm of the country.

9. Try to Travel on Bus

Owning a large area of the country, it is complicated to move from one place to another on your own car. Indeed, you have to endure severe poundings while traveling between the cities. You can book a seat on a bus. Apart from offering delicious snacks, the buses also provide passengers with comfortable seats and a friendly environment.

10. Know the Currency

The Iranian currency is quite confusing. There are two names to it; Toman and Rial. You must need to know what the difference between Toman and Riyal is if you want to prevent yourself from being tricked by the shrewd dealers. The official currency in Iran is Riyal; however, there is also another value which is known as Toman. As a rule of thumb, always remember that there are 10 riyals in 1 Toman.

For example, if someone is saying that he would sell 2 dozen eggs in 2 Tomans, it implies that you have to give him 20 Riyals. There are also some rumors that Iran will officially introduce Toman in the coming years, but the policy has not been implemented yet.

11. Driving Is a Challenge

Driving in Iran could be extremely challenging, given the huge number of motorcycles and vehicles. The need for caution and concentration becomes more vital if you are a foreigner and have no experience of driving cars on the streets of Iran. If you exceed the prescribed limit, then you will be heavily fined. Likewise, traffic wardens also make sure that you do not violate any traffic rules.

Conclusion

We have tried our best to make your journey as smooth as possible. It is now up to you to utilize this knowledge in a time of need. Not only will you enjoy your trip, but you will also not lose in the beauty of Iran. Visiting Iran is very simple these days just book your British Airways Reservations to reach there in the budget.
