No one can say they lack poor tech habits. The growth and use of devices to access technology came with no manual, and people have to learn from their mistakes. Bad tech habits are popular among most people. For instance, using the same password for every account. You may be sharing too much on social media, and you are texting during family dinners, among other things. So as you enjoy your shows on The Pirate Bay, ensure you follow good tech habits. If not, below are some tech habits you should avoid and how to fix them.

1. Failing to silence your phone

Today, phones are a part of us and distract us from many things. For instance, in most public areas, phones should be on mute. But, a few minutes later, there is a presence of a loud tune, and the clueless owner knows. Cell phones erupting at inappropriate times are poor tech habits to have, and it may be people who have heard the commands to silence them that they no longer hear it anymore. To fix this, have your default ringer set off and have it on if you know you need to hear it ring.

2. Leaving equipment in plain sight

Thieves do not have to do a lot of planning to steal your gadget. It only takes seconds to conceive and execute a gadget heist, and it is because they were left unattended. It is common in restaurants as you run to get a refill from airport security conveyers, and your locked car is not safe either. For this reason, do not leave laptops and other gadgets left unattended. Leave them with someone you trust or go to the bathroom with them. Plus, it does not hurt to ask the staff in a café to leave something behind the counter for a minute.

3. Not taking breaks

To Prevent Burnout, Take These 3 Breaks Daily | Forge

Everyone is guilty of too much screen time. Most parents face the challenge to control children’s screen time, and putting down their smartphones when they need to work. Breaks are good for health. Your joints, circulatory system, muscular system, and eyes need a change of scenery. Plus, remaining seated for a long time can cause blood clots. Plus, staring at the screen for a long can cause eyestrain and affect your vision. If it is hard to stay away from your gadgets, install apps to remind you to step away and get some water, stretch your legs and call it a day.

4. Using devices with dirty hands

If you hand a cellphone to a child, it comes back with crumbs, dirt, and sneeze spray. But adults are not any better. Playing a game on your phone while downing a burrito will not leave it looking fresh. Not only is this gross, but it brings health risks too. Remember, your phone and keyboard are dirty things around us. The solution here is to clean your phone and other touch screen devices every day. Anytime you see visible grime, do a quick wipe down.

5. Using your phone without a case

Using a phone without a case ends with your phone or tablet dying. The CPU may melt, the battery may explode, cosmic rays may fry the RAM, but you may also drop it. No matter how sure-handed you are, it can still easily fall into the ground from your hands or out of your pocket. Therefore, the fix is to enshroud your gadgets in sturdy and thick cases. Choose silicone and thick rubber cases that cover every corner.

6. Reusing passwords over and over

25 Worst Passwords of All Time -- Security Today

The majority of people are guilty when it comes to this poor habit of reusing passwords. Reusing passwords is common as people find it difficult to remember the various passwords on various sites. So, reusing passwords is easy and works every time. But, when a website with insecure password storage is hacked, it will cause all your accounts to be at risk if they have the same password. Thus, the solution is to find a system to create a unique password on every website you use it. Find a password that is hard to for get and is impossible to crack.
